DESCRIPTION: \nALBEMARLE\, NC — The Stanly County Historical Society invites the community to an unforgettable evening of music under the stars with “Dolly’s Songbook: A Tribute Concert” on Saturday\, October 24\, 2026\, at 7:00 p.m. on the lawn of the historic 1852 Isaiah Snuggs House\, 112 N. Third Street\, Downtown Albemarle. \nFeaturing well-known local vocalist Suzanne Holshouser\, joined by special friends Maegan Coble Sloan and Bradley Eudy\, the concert will celebrate the timeless music and remarkable songwriting of legendary country music icon Dolly Parton.\nGuests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and settle in for an evening of great music in the beautiful setting of one of Albemarle’s historic treasures. \nThe concert is located within Albemarle’s Downtown Social District\, so attendees may enjoy an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage purchased from participating downtown establishments while listening to the music. Simply ask your server for your beverage in a Social District cup. \nAdmission is Free. \nThe Stanly County Historical Society encourages residents and visitors alike to come celebrate local talent\, Dolly Parton’s enduring musical legacy\, and the history and charm of downtown Albemarle.

DESCRIPTION:A FREE event open to the public to learn more about the arts in Stanly County. \nStudent Art Show:  Come view the county-wide student art show\, showcasing the best from each elementary\, middle\, and high school in Stanly County plus work from the advertising\, graphic design\, and simulation and game animation students from Stanly Community College. A list of participants will be shared shortly. \nArtisans:  a variety of artisans will have booths demonstrating their craft as well as selling their creations.  A list of demonstrating artists will be shared shortly. \nInformation Booths:  Each arts organization will have a booth to promote their upcoming events as well as recruit new members or volunteers.  Arts-based businesses will be there selling their goods or available to answer questions about lessons\, etc.  A full list of exhibitors will be shared shortly. \nLive Performances:  Performances from choirs\, bands\, dance and theatre troupes will entertain audiences throughout the day in the auditorium as well as the lobby.  The schedule will be shared shortly. \nCreation Station:  an opportunity to create your own art to take home with you!  Learn water color techniques\, how to combine colors while creating 3D sculpture with Model Magic clay\,  create a rhythm instrument\, and more. \nLocal Authors:  Meet local authors and peruse & purchase books they have written.   A list of participating authors will be shared shortly. \nRaffles:  a chance to support the arts while taking a chance on winning great prizes \nAwards Ceremony:  at 1:45 pm we will announce the  2027 Arts Person and Fine Arts Teacher of the Year!  Don’t miss it! \n  \n
