DESCRIPTION:We have so many talented photographers in our area! \nSeveral years ago The Guild added an annual photography competition and exhibition to show off their talents. Sometimes the annual show would involve a particular theme\, while other years will employ a “photographer’s choice” to allow photographers to enter photos of any subject they prefer. After all\, we’ve all have our favorite topics.\nAwarded prizes are 1st\, 2nd\, 3rd and 2 honorable mentions. Prize money will be $300 for 1st place\, $200 for 2nd place & $100 for 3rd place. Honorable Mentions may be given at the judge’s discretion. SUMMARY:Celebration of the ARTS
DESCRIPTION:A FREE event open to the public to learn more about the arts in Stanly County. \nStudent Art Show:  Come view the county-wide student art show\, showcasing the best from each elementary\, middle\, and high school in Stanly County plus work from the advertising\, graphic design\, and simulation and game animation students from Stanly Community College. A list of participants will be shared shortly. \nArtisans:  a variety of artisans will have booths demonstrating their craft as well as selling their creations.  A list of demonstrating artists will be shared shortly. \nInformation Booths:  Each arts organization will have a booth to promote their upcoming events as well as recruit new members or volunteers.  Arts-based businesses will be there selling their goods or available to answer questions about lessons\, etc.  A full list of exhibitors will be shared shortly. \nLive Performances:  Performances from choirs\, bands\, dance and theatre troupes will entertain audiences throughout the day in the auditorium as well as the lobby.  The schedule will be shared shortly. \nCreation Station:  an opportunity to create your own art to take home with you!  Learn water color techniques\, how to combine colors while creating 3D sculpture with Model Magic clay\,  create a rhythm instrument\, and more. \nLocal Authors:  Meet local authors and peruse & purchase books they have written.   A list of participating authors will be shared shortly. \nRaffles:  a chance to support the arts while taking a chance on winning great prizes \nAwards Ceremony:  at 1:45 pm we will announce the  winners of the America 250 Art Contest\, plus the 2026 Arts Person and Fine Arts Teacher of the Year!  Don’t miss it! \n  \nSpecial thanks to our sponsors: \nUwharrie Bank \nJuneberry Ridge \nCreation Station:  T.R. DESCRIPTION:Calendar of events\nDelivery dates:\n• Friday\, February 16th\, 1:00PM – 5:00PM\n• Saturday\, February 17th\, 10:00AM – 2:00PM \nShow opens:\n• Wednesday\, February 21st – 12:00PM \nAwards and art pickup:\n• Saturday\, March 16th\, 10:00AM – 1:30PM \nCategories and Awards\n• First place – $300\n• Second place – $200\n• Third place – $100 \nEntry Fees:\nArtists may enter up to 6 pieces total. Fees are as listed below:\n• Stanly Arts Guild members – up to 2 pieces – $30; $10 each for up to 4 additional entries\n• Non-members – up to 2 pieces – $40; $15 each for up to 4 additional entries \nRules for Entry\n• Artists must be 18 years or older.\n• Art must not be over five (5) years old and cannot have won awards in any previous Stanly Arts Guild show.\n• All artwork must remain on display until the end of the show.\n• Photographs\, including frame\, must not exceed the size limit of 48” x 36” and must weigh less than 35 pounds.\n• Photographs must be properly framed or printed on a hard surface that supports hanging.\n• Entries must be properly prepared to hang – no saw tooth hangers will be accepted.\n• Artwork must be hand delivered.\n• Please note – if the number of entries exceeds available space\, the show may be juried.\n• Stanly Arts Guild reserves the right to decline entries deemed inappropriate\, not in good taste or works not properly prepared for display.

DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE to see Participating Schools\, Art Demonstrators\, and Exhibitors \nCLICK HERE for Performance Schedule \nA FREE event open to the public to learn more about the arts in Stanly County. \nStudent Art Show:  Come view the county-wide student art show\, showcasing the best from each elementary\, middle\, and high school in Stanly County plus work from the advertising\, graphic design\, and simulation and game animation students from Stanly Community College. \nInformation Booths:  Each arts organization will have a booth to promote their upcoming events as well as recruit new members or volunteers.  Arts-based businesses will be there selling their goods or available to answer questions about lessons\, etc. \nLive Performances:  Performances from choirs\, bands\, dance and theatre troupes will entertain audiences throughout the day in the auditorium as well as the lobby. \nCreation Station:  an opportunity to create your own art to take home with you!  Learn how to marbelize paper\, water color techniques\, create a rain stick\, and more. \nArtisans:  a variety of artisans will have booths demonstrating their craft as well as selling their creations. \nRaffles:  a chance to support the arts while taking a chance on winning great prizes \nAwards Ceremony:  at 2 pm we will announce the 2023 Arts Person and Fine Arts Teacher of the Year!  Don’t miss it!
