DESCRIPTION:A FREE event open to the public to learn more about the arts in Stanly County. \nStudent Art Show:  Come view the county-wide student art show\, showcasing the best from each elementary\, middle\, and high school in Stanly County plus work from the advertising\, graphic design\, and simulation and game animation students from Stanly Community College. See below for list of participating schools and art teachers. \nArtisans:  a variety of artisans will have booths demonstrating their craft as well as selling their creations.  See below for demonstrating artists. \nInformation Booths:  Each arts organization will have a booth to promote their upcoming events as well as recruit new members or volunteers.  Arts-based businesses will be there selling their goods or available to answer questions about lessons\, etc.  See below for full list of exhibitors. \nLive Performances:  Performances from choirs\, bands\, dance and theatre troupes will entertain audiences throughout the day in the auditorium as well as the lobby.  See poster below for schedule. \nCreation Station:  an opportunity to create your own art to take home with you!  Learn how to marbelize paper\, water color techniques\, create a rain stick\, and more. \nLocal Authors:  Meet local authors and peruse & purchase books they have written.  See below for list of participating authors. \nRaffles:  a chance to support the arts while taking a chance on winning great prizes \nAwards Ceremony:  at 1:45 pm we will announce the 2025 Arts Person and Fine Arts Teacher of the Year!  Don’t miss it! \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Tropical Music Band\nLatin Swing Entertainment\, established in Raleigh\, North Carolina in January 2019\, is a vibrant tropical music band that specializes in a wide range of Latin genres including Salsa\, Merengue\, Cumbia\, and Bachata. The band was founded by trumpet player and musical director Sandry E Romero Miller\, who embarked on his musical journey in 1998 at the Music Conservatory “Jose Luis Paz” in Maracaibo\, Venezuela. This early start led him to join the National System of Youth and Children’s Orchestras of Venezuela\, famously known as “El Sistema”. \nYou may purchase a season ticket and be entitled to all concerts or you may purchase individual tickets to the concerts.  Season Tickets are Adult $80; Student $25\, Family w/ 1 adult $90\, Family w/ 2 adults $170.  Individual tickets are adult $25  and student $10.  They may be purchased online\, at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center\, or at the door.  For more details\, please see the Stanly County Concert Association website:  Click here for Stanly County Concert Association website \nThis is the 4th of the 5 concert series for 2024-2025. DESCRIPTION:Award-Winning Jazz Duo: Sounds of A&R\nAwarded and named “Best Jazz Group” at the 2019 New York City Reader’s Jazz Awards\, the husband and wife duo known as Sounds of A&R\, or S.O.A.R. It is the brainchild of vocalist April May Webb and trumpeter and multi-instrumental professional Randall Haywood. In 2022\, S.O.A.R. was one of ten ensembles selected to represent the United States as U.S. Cultural Ambassadors as part of the American Music Abroad 2022 & 2023 international touring season. DESCRIPTION:The Rowan Big Band All Stars is an 18-piece community big band based in Landis\, North Carolina\, performing in the classic style of legends like Glenn Miller\, Count Basie\, and Duke Ellington. Founded in 2006\, the band specializes in swing and Great American Songbook favorites. A nonprofit organization\, the band is dedicated to preserving the big band tradition while giving back—members volunteer their time\, and net proceeds from performances support local charities. SUMMARY:82nd Airborne Division Band & Chorus present "This We'll Defend:  The All American Story"
DESCRIPTION:The Stanly County Concert Association is proud to invite the community to celebrate America and our Army’s 250th birthday with the 82nd  Airborne Division Band and Chorus\, as they present “This We’ll Defend: The All American Story\,” a musical tribute to our nation. Since the Revolutionary War\, “This We’ll Defend” has remained the motto of the United States Army. It speaks to the resolve of those who serve\, from the Greatest Generation\, to today's Soldiers stationed all around the world. Celebrate this great nation and those who are sworn to protect it\, as we honor military service—past\, present\, and future—through music and storytelling by the All American Band and Chorus. \nSince this unit’s founding in 1942\, these active-duty Paratroopers continue to connect America to its Army by telling the Army Story and honoring Soldiers and Veterans as the Musical Ambassadors of the 82nd Airborne Division. \nBefore the concert begins at 4:00 p.m.\, small ensembles will be performing in the lobby to welcome guests. These preconcert performances will continue until 3:40 p.m.\, when the auditorium doors open for seating. \nThis promises to be an exciting and inspirational musical celebration for all! \nTickets are required\, but they are free for everyone. You may pick them up at Starnes Jewelers or the Stanly County AgriCivic Center\, and they will also be available at the door on the day of the event. Members of the Stanly County Concert Association may use their season tickets for admission. In addition\, on Saturday\, March 21st\, during the Celebration of the Arts at the AgriCivic Center\, Concert Association members will be on hand to give tickets to anyone interested in attending. \n  \nSponsored by the Stanly County Concert Association\, Uwharrie Bank in conjunction with the America 250 NC Stanly County committee. \n
