DESCRIPTION:A Premier Country Pop Act\nThe Hall Sisters over the last few years have established themselves as one of the premier acts in the country pop genre. With multiple CD releases and new material in the works\, the ensemble has also maintained a robust touring schedule. They have performed on notable stages such as The Grand Ole Opry\, Carnegie Hall\, and Dollywood. In 2022\, they delighted audiences at the Stanly County Concert Association. DESCRIPTION:Stanly County has a rich history of prominent musicians. Many of these musicians taught and served in local churches and schools. Through their work\, others learned to make joyful sounds and cultivated a love of music. \nThis first in a series of “Prominent Musicians” programs will honor individuals in Albemarle: Margie Mauney\, Katherine Almond\, Mary Hearne\, Paul Frye\, Tommy Hauss\, Joann Morton\, Annyce Worsham and Marie Jones. \nThe Stanly County Historical Society’s program will be at 3 p.m. Feb. 2 at First Presbyterian Church\, 126 W. North St.\, in Albemarle. Michael Rowland\, organist at First Presbyterian Church\, will provide organ music during the presentations. The program is free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:A FREE event open to the public to learn more about the arts in Stanly County. \nStudent Art Show:  Come view the county-wide student art show\, showcasing the best from each elementary\, middle\, and high school in Stanly County plus work from the advertising\, graphic design\, and simulation and game animation students from Stanly Community College. See below for list of participating schools and art teachers. \nArtisans:  a variety of artisans will have booths demonstrating their craft as well as selling their creations.  See below for demonstrating artists. \nInformation Booths:  Each arts organization will have a booth to promote their upcoming events as well as recruit new members or volunteers.  Arts-based businesses will be there selling their goods or available to answer questions about lessons\, etc.  See below for full list of exhibitors. \nLive Performances:  Performances from choirs\, bands\, dance and theatre troupes will entertain audiences throughout the day in the auditorium as well as the lobby.  See poster below for schedule. \nCreation Station:  an opportunity to create your own art to take home with you!  Learn how to marbelize paper\, water color techniques\, create a rain stick\, and more. \nLocal Authors:  Meet local authors and peruse & purchase books they have written.  See below for list of participating authors. \nRaffles:  a chance to support the arts while taking a chance on winning great prizes \nAwards Ceremony:  at 1:45 pm we will announce the 2025 Arts Person and Fine Arts Teacher of the Year!  Don’t miss it! \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Tropical Music Band\nLatin Swing Entertainment\, established in Raleigh\, North Carolina in January 2019\, is a vibrant tropical music band that specializes in a wide range of Latin genres including Salsa\, Merengue\, Cumbia\, and Bachata. The band was founded by trumpet player and musical director Sandry E Romero Miller\, who embarked on his musical journey in 1998 at the Music Conservatory “Jose Luis Paz” in Maracaibo\, Venezuela. DESCRIPTION:Award-Winning Jazz Duo: Sounds of A&R\nAwarded and named “Best Jazz Group” at the 2019 New York City Reader’s Jazz Awards\, the husband and wife duo known as Sounds of A&R\, or S.O.A.R. It is the brainchild of vocalist April May Webb and trumpeter and multi-instrumental professional Randall Haywood. In 2022\, S.O.A.R. was one of ten ensembles selected to represent the United States as U.S. Cultural Ambassadors as part of the American Music Abroad 2022 & 2023 international touring season. Mark your calendars for Saturday\, May 17th\, as the music fills the air at the charming Historic 1852 Isaiah Snuggs House in Downtown Albemarle. Swing dance lessons begin at 6:30 pm and the band takes the stage at 7:00 pm. \nStep back in time as the historic grounds of the Snuggs House\, located at 112 N. Third St\, transforms into an open-air dance floor. The Salisbury Swing Band\, renowned for their lively renditions of classic swing era hits\, is sure to get everyone moving. From the infectious rhythms of Benny Goodman to the smooth melodies of Glenn Miller\, their repertoire promises a delightful journey through the golden age of swing. \nThis event offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich history of Stanly County in a fun and engaging way.
