(2-D art includes photography.)\nAwards will be given in 2 categories\, ages 9-12 & ages 13-17 for the following:\n• First place\n• Second place\n• Third place \nEntry Fees:\nArtists may enter up to 4 pieces total. Fees are as listed below:\n• Up to 2 pieces – $5; $2 each for up to 2 additional entries \nRules for Entry\n• Artists must be between the ages of 9 and 17 years old.\n• Art must not have won awards in any previous Stanly Arts Guild show.\n• Any art created from photos or other reference material should have permission from the originator of the photo or reference material and/or should be changed to make the art unique by the creator of the final art.\n• All artwork must remain on display until the end of the show.\n• Two dimensional art and photography must not exceed 48” x 36” and not weigh more than 35 pounds. They play Top 40\, Blues\, Funk and Country and are dedicated to live performance and making every event a party experience. DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE to see Participating Schools\, Art Demonstrators\, and Exhibitors \nCLICK HERE for Performance Schedule \nA FREE event open to the public to learn more about the arts in Stanly County. \nStudent Art Show:  Come view the county-wide student art show\, showcasing the best from each elementary\, middle\, and high school in Stanly County plus work from the advertising\, graphic design\, and simulation and game animation students from Stanly Community College. \nInformation Booths:  Each arts organization will have a booth to promote their upcoming events as well as recruit new members or volunteers.  Arts-based businesses will be there selling their goods or available to answer questions about lessons\, etc. \nLive Performances:  Performances from choirs\, bands\, dance and theatre troupes will entertain audiences throughout the day in the auditorium as well as the lobby. \nCreation Station:  an opportunity to create your own art to take home with you!  Learn how to marbelize paper\, water color techniques\, create a rain stick\, and more. \nArtisans:  a variety of artisans will have booths demonstrating their craft as well as selling their creations. \nRaffles:  a chance to support the arts while taking a chance on winning great prizes \nAwards Ceremony:  at 2 pm we will announce the 2023 Arts Person and Fine Arts Teacher of the Year!  Don’t miss it!

SUMMARY:Stanly County Concert Association presents The Rowan Big Band
DESCRIPTION:The Rowan Big Band All Stars is an 18-piece community big band in the tradition of Glenn Miller\, Count Basie\, Duke Ellington and other great early twentieth-century bandleaders\, home-based in Landis\, NC and specializing in Great American Songbook favorites and “big band swing.” First organized in 2006\, the Band is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving this uniquely American style of music and sharing our appreciation of it with others. The members of the band volunteer their talents for performances\, and the net proceeds from their musical performances are used to support worthwhile local charities. \nFrom the beginning\, founder Ron Turbyfill’s vision for the Band has been not only to keep the heritage of big band music alive\, but also to support local charitable causes by providing quality entertainment for charity events and fundraisers. Over the years the band has performed at benefits for charities such as Communities in Schools\, Speedway Childrens Charities\, the USO\, American Cancer Society\, The American Legion Auxiliary\, W.G.
