DESCRIPTION:The Stanly County Arts Council and First Bank welcome the Charlotte Symphony back to Albemarle with “Classics Go to the Movies” on Sunday\, October 15\, 2023\, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm.  Conductor Christopher James Lees presents musical selections from classical pieces that were used in some of the greatest movies.  Program includes: \nRICHARD WHITING/Bill Holcombe  “Hooray for Hollywood”\nWOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART “Nozze di Figaro\, Le K. 492”\nJOHANN\, JR. STRAUSS  “On the Beautiful Blue Danube\,” Waltzes\, Opus 314\nJACQUES OFFENBACH’s  “Can-Can” from The Overture to Orpheus in the Underworld\nJOHN WILLIAMS Suite from Jaws: “The Shark Theme”\nHAROLD ARLEN/Rothrock and Holcombe  “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz\nJOHN WILLIAMS Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone Suite: “Harry’s Wondrous World”\nJOHN WILLIAMS  “Adventures on Earth” from E.T. \n  \nTickets:  \nGeneral Admission Adult:  $10\, Child/Student/Group:  $5 (click here to purchase online)\nReserved seating:  $20 (only available at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center) \nTickets will go on sale no later than September 25\, 2023\, at the following locations: \nStanly County Agri-civic Center ticket office (Mon-Friday\, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm) – Reserved tickets available too!
