The second week of camp will be July 15-18, 2024, at Albemarle High School, Albemarle.  The camp is for any rising 1st – 6th grader. Each day, campers will explore classes in Theatre, Dance, Music, and Visual Art, all taught by licensed professionals. Camp begins at 9:00 am and concludes at 2:00 pm each day. Campers are responsible for bringing their own bag lunches Monday – Wednesday, but the Arts Council will host a Pizza Party on Thursday, July 11th and July 18th. Snacks and bottled water will be provided each day. Cost is only $105 per camper per week which includes all materials plus a camp T-shirt. Sibling Discount available:  $90 for each additional camper from the same household.

Camp Director is Wes Tucker. Tucker initiated the camp in 2008 and has served as camp director each year. Returning visual art teacher from Oakboro Choice STEM School, Rebekah Crisco, will lead your child through creating their own canvas art masterpiece that you will enjoy for many years. Former Albemarle Academy of Dance teacher Mary Grubbs will teach each camper different types of dances and choreography plus the basics of biomechanics of the human body.  Ariel Jones, band director at West Stanly High School, returns to teach the campers about different aspects of music, from rhythm to genres and different instruments.
